Grady has always wanted to help people, which first took him into paramedicine at university. It was not the right fit. Sport and exercise had always been his other passion, so combining the two into exercise physiology was, in his words, a no brainer.
What lights him up is meeting new people and watching their overall health and motivation improve. He takes real pride in making sure clients actually enjoy exercise and want to move, rather than seeing it as a chore. Patients are often surprised by how much exercise improves every area of health, mental health included.
The moment he knew he was in the right job: a client struggling mentally and physically after a knee replacement, unable to do the things he used to. Using exercise to rebuild his strength and confidence until he was back to everything he used to do showed Grady the tangible difference this work makes.
